You would have to cancel and then redisplay the list with a new list of items ... I presume you want to get smaller and smaller depending on the letters you type. This should be quite straightforward to do.

ok i can do that, but the problem is if i pressed the next char which is not the part of any words the control goes to the first item in the list. what i need is to remove the selection and the control must remain there....

You can select a particular item yourself with SCI_AUTOCSELECT.
