I answered your post as an SciTE question... you posted to the correct
group, I answered a question that you did not ask. ;)
But SciTE *is* a representative client app for Scintilla, and its use
of Ctrl-E for bouncing between brackets and Ctrl-Shift-E for selecting
between brackets works reasonably well...
Finally, double-clicking does *not* work for everyone, even without
the fairly stringent positioning requirements of your proposal (this
relates to Neil's comment).
