It currently supports UTF-8 but in pratical, UTF-16 would be much more convenient, especially on an OS such as Windows that natively uses UTF-16. For instance, without UTF-16 support, on a regular Unicode build application on Windows, one would have to do the conversion every time in order to set/retrive the text.
