I've committed a change that splits the reentrance control flag into two: one for text modifications and one for styling modifications. This allows changing text styles within a SCN_MODIFIED for a change in the text. It also currently allows changing text within a style change notification but that isn't so useful so may be dropped. If this causes new bugs then I'll remove the change.
Part of the justification for this is that it improves performance for bug #1639261 where there was a lot of styling being done and then thrown away because it was inside a text modification. Another reason is that it has been asked for before so it would be good to see if it works and is useful. Its not the fastest solution to bug #1639261 either since a change that checked the reentrance flag in more situations was even faster.
