Looks like scitecmd addresses several small issues. You may want SciTE to normally be multi-instance but have a command to add a file to existing instances. Some of the options are harder to perform with base SciTE such as opening an empty window in an existing instance. The -s option reads from standard input and this wasn't available when scitecmd was written.
