I don't think you understand. It is not the number of items that
matter, it's selecting the buffer via incremental typing, then
pressing Enter to switch to it. Scite's buffer menu does net help this
since as a menu item, it is not capable of receiving incremental
typing, and it's indexed by buffer number as well. Solution explorer
is for other purpose not suited for quick buffer switching.

In my understanding, scite in one way excell because it's very light
in memory consumption and can handle plenty of open files without
chocking the rest of the process, even in a very low-spec computer.
Other alternative that provide this lightness is notepad.exe.
