You can't, since the digest doesn't include the message-ids of the
individual messages. It's possible that getting MIME digests will allow
this, but since Thunderbird doesn't (the last time I checked) allow
replying to attachments as if they were individual messages (maybe you
have to save them or something), I'd suggest that you change to
individual messages; it makes things a whole lot easier...
