I may be completely off track here, or assuming too much, or both, but:
Would it not be more intuitive to have bookmarks saved for the buffer
only when the buffer is saved? If the user closes SciTE without saving
their file, don't save their bookmarks. If I bookmark line 20, save,
then delete lines 5-10, my bookmark now points to line 15, if I close
SciTE and don't save the file, my bookmark should stay at line 20, not
be magically saved to line 15, out of sync with the file?
As I said, I may be off track, what exactly are you trying to achieve?
