Is there a way to capture an OnChar event *before* the character gets registered, rather than after? I would find it helpful to make a selection, press '(' and have the selection enclosed by parenthesis. I doubt the functionality exists by default, but maybe it can be implemented at the source level? Possibly have whatever OnChar returns be the char that SciTE inputs into the buffer. I'm not asking for a patch, just a pointer into the right direction as to how this might be done.
