Main use would be if you have the editor open anyway all the time and
don't want to waste screen space by putting a clock there. But I admit
that acting as a clock is not the foremost task of a text editor.

  There are small clock widgets available for both platforms that are
a better solution than trying to change SciTE's statusbar code. On
Windows a couple of the Google taskbar clock gadgets are OK and they
can be topmosted and left over some of SciTE's chrome even in full
screen mode.

  I don't want to evaluate the statusbar periodically due to overhead
and making the code cleverer isn't worth the effort when an external
program can be used instead.
