I think there is a bug in how the interface table for scripting is set up with the string put in the first parameter rather than the second.
As an aside, is there any way I can get hold of what is in WordChars? What I'd like to have done is set them default, then display them for a clue to what I'd done wrong.
String returning is a little bit more hassle than returning an integer or accepting a string value, so its not provided as often as for integer values.
