SciTE has a poor implementation of incremental search on Windows

Yes, that's why I was surprised by this thread.

and it is commented out on GTK+ (search for INCREMENTAL_SEARCH in
scite/gtk/SciTEGTK.cxx) because it is buggy. I wouldn't mind removing
the incremental search on Windows as it has bugs (it is modal and some
users are confused by how to use it) and hasn't received any patches.

I never use it, as I forget it is here, and I am not overly convinced of the interest of this kind of search. But that's just me, of course.

I've just checked that there was a feature request for this back in 2003
(http://tinyurl.com/qtbyk) - which elicited a rather terse "I won't be
implementing this" reply, so I'm a bit hesitant to re-request it...

  Terse but accurate ;-)

Reminder: this doesn't mean that Neil won't accept this feature, but that he won't work on it... If somebody is motivated enough to improve this, go on!
