Linking to Lua as a shared library is a more elegant approach, but I
suspect that Neil wants to keep SciTE as a self-contained executable.
Yes, I've had enough dependency installation trouble myself
(including for some Scintilla based editors) that I want SciTE to
continue to be simple to install. Others may decide to package it in
other ways which may make sense on distributions where the package
manager works well and will be able to find the needed components.
