Friedrich Vedder has contributed a patch that optionally saves

SciTE features. The patch with explanation is at

Excellent. I wanted to do something like this for a long time, but
always postponed... Thanks Friedrich! Many people wanted that.
The new ".session" format is incompatible with the old ".ses" files
and there is no upgrade utility.
It is quite trivial to write a script to convert them.
Perhaps a little Lua script inside SciTE would be the most universal?
I can try if the format shown on the tracker won't change. If somebody
else try also, he has a good chance of succeeding before I begin... :-)
It is a good thing to keep the extension separate of .properties, as we
are numerous to associate .ses to a script allowing to load the session
at once. I suppose a shbang could have done the job too, but making
these separate is cleaner.
I suppose .ses file support will be dropped (good riddance! ;-) It was
useful but limited).
I will probably commit this patch. It
would be good if someone could work out what to do with the
"save.recent" feature: maybe it should be removed or the MRU saved
into the session file.
I never used this feature, I had to look at the doc. to see what it
does... Blindly loading all files loaded in a SciTE run (most of them
being closed before closing SciTE) seems of limited usefulness. Does
anybody really use it?
