Thanks for this suggestion. This is what I might do, but anyway the issue should be resolved one way or another. Maybe somebody who is better than me in compiling and makefiles should prapare a bugfix patch for the makefile and send it to bitlib author's attention. A cross-post in this forum would serve as a workaround for other users facing the same problem.
