I use SciTE a lot to do normal LaTeX editing. For ease with compile/display
etc many commands related to LaTeX are defined in the properties file.
However, there are too many of them and clicking on the tools menu pops a
column of menu command lists which takes longer than the height of the
screen. On the other hand, it is often not necessary to go to the tools menu
in order to use some of the commands therein -- just some shortcut key
bindings would be enough. So, my problem is this: is it possible to define
user commands and asign shortcut keys without displaying a new item in the
tools menu? If not, is it possible to break the tools menu into two or
several columns and restrict the height of each column to be less than the
screen height?
