Hi all,
a new PKCS#11 has been released on the web site
http://smartsign.sourceforge.net
under the subproject "SmartPKCS11".
It supports Muscle Card Edge Protocol for talking with
JavaCard enabled smartcards. Check out MuscleCard web site
for details
http://www.musclecard.com
The new token requires MuscleCard API to be installed
and compiled on your system, and is still based on
TrustCenter's GPKCS11 project. Be aware that you have
to download a modified version of GPKCS#11, available
from the SmartSign web site itself. You cannot compile
CardEdge Token with the original GPKCS11 library.
You have to download a modified version of the OpenSSL
package, too. It is available on the website. This is
required in order to avoid name collisions with Netscape
internal libraries.
WINDOWS COMPATIBILITY
The new token has been successfully compiled on Windows 2K
platform, and it seems to work fine with Netscape 6 on this
platform. A deep test of the functionalities has not been
done yet.
Please, return any feedback to this mailing list.
Regards,
Tommaso.
