Hello,

I wanted to give you an update on what is happenning:

Currently pcsc-lite works on most Unix platforms and Mac OS X.
It has been fully validated and was released version 1.0.1

The Musclecard client side framework is now pluggable, so any card service
provider which fits the API can be loaded dynamically using the card.conf
method of loading like in ssp-lite.

We are working on a Cryptoflex plugin which works fairly nice in this API.
I can use XCardII with multiple readers, with Cryptoflex and with the
applet on a javacard. It works seamlessly and automatically recognizes
cards. The initial release will
probably be made in about 2 weeks with future releases including
capability of checking plugin digital signatures. If you are interested
in a pre-release, let me know and I'll pull a copy from CVS. This
framework will work on any pcsc supported platform.

I encourage you too write drivers for cards to the client side API. In
fact an i2c driver would fit nicely into it's object approach.....

I'll keep you up to date.

Regards,
Dave
