In more recent kernels (not only SuSE) there are two (2)
different uhci-Implementations, AFAIR.
Please try to use "the other one", i.e.:
boot the system, run a test with card reader and card,
do a "lsmod" and scan for "usb" and "uhci".
Then unload the one module and load "the other".
