It should work. If you are using a Javacard, you have to select the 
applet before sending it any command (APDU=00 A4 00 00 Lc APPLET_AID).

If this does not work, could you let me know:
- which OS (+version you are using)
- which version of pcsc-lite
- which version of the driver
- a bit more details on the unsuccessful results (ie do you get a 
response from the card, is the card mute, do you get a communication 
error,...).
