Really, I can't think of a downside to registering as a LUG. Advantages are you might show up on a listing for someone who is looking for a local group. See http://www.linux.org/groups/usa/iowa.html for an example. Basically another means to get the word out I guess. The more the merrier you know. On another note while checking out www.sclug.org (Simi/Conejo Linux Users Group). Check out the Installfest/BBQ, now that sounds good... Linux, BBQ and Beer.
