I never update the kernel packages. I suggest doing them from scratch. -----Original Message----- From: Mike [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 6:06 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [sclug-general] up2date
So my weekend project is to get my boxes up to date.... Last time I tried up2date and had it download the latest kernel it pretty much quit booting. What did I do wrong? I definately can't afford that to happen this weekend. Is there a magic command I needed to input at LILO??? These are primarily Red Hat 7.1 boxes.... And traditionally I do kernel upgrades from source, but once again my time is a little limited this weekend. I'd like to start this process in the morning..... Let it update it's files, and be ready for reboot mid afternoon with updated files. Any hints or tips for me? Mike
