Hm ... where are you located? Maybe someone could carpool and help
you bring the system.

Short answer: yes.

Long answer:

I think we'll have multiple distributions. I'm planning on
bringing a number of KRUD disks (a subdistribution of Red Hat
currently tracking the 7.2 release). There was talk about having
RHL 7.3 on hand -- it was released just earlier this week. I'd be
surprised if there weren't two or three other distributions
on-hand.

As for myself, I'm not planning to charge if someone wants copies
of KRUD. If others want to charge to recoup the media costs, that
would be up to them. I don't think anyone will be bringing boxed
versions or charging for more than just the media itself.

I'll also be bringing a server system from which to do floppy-based
RHL installs (e.g., put a floppy in your system, let it boot,
answer two or three questions, and walk away). To that end, I'll
be bringing a couple of 5-port hubs, lots of network cabling,
connectors, a crimping tool, extension cords, and extra el cheapo
10MB NICs.

(I'm not giving the NICs away, mind you, just loaning them for the
duration of the meeting. And if anyone offers to buy them from me,
I'll point out that there are much better 100MB models at any
computer store for $20.)

For that matter, I'll be going very early to set up a LAN
infrastructure, so if anyone wants to help out with that fun, I'm
planning to get there at about 10am.

(I don't imagine setup will actually take three hours, mind you,
but I ascribe to the Montgomery Scott School of Engineering:
always multiply your estimates by a factor of four. When you're
done well before your estimated time, everyone will think you're a
miracle worker.)

I'm also bringing munchies and pop. Beer or other mind-altering
substances (and we're not counting Linux in that list, though I
sometimes find Nessus [http://www.nessus.org] to be mind-altering)
are your own problem.

:)
