All: Something interesting for this meeting (and which will dovetail nicely into our January Install-Fest):
Netraverse -- the makers of the Win4Lin Windows bridging software -- is sponsoring Linux Users Groups. The details of the program can be found at http://www.netraverse.com/LUG. I contacted them in this regard, and recieved the following attached reply. Ultimately, what this means is: 1. The LUG gets a complimentary license for the software. 2. All LUG members get a $20 discount on Win4Lin Workstation Edition 4.0 3. The LUG gets a listing on Netraverse's Web site (http://netraverse.com/LUG/lugs.php) 4. Netraverse would LIKE (but does not require) the LUG to display a sponsorship logo on its Web site (see http://www.netraverse.com/LUG). I've got the license key -- they sent it to me attached to the e-mail. While it seems pretty clear that the key is for the single complimentary copy of the software given to the LUG, goodness knows I've been occasionally remiss and have left such things laying around in public where they might be read by person or persons unknown. It's very possible that during the next meeting and/or January Install-Fest, I might bring the license certificate along for my own edification. If I then happened to leave it laying around where LUG members could see it, I hardly think I could be held responsible. Certainly I plan to install Win4Lin as part of my late-December RHL8.0 upgrade, so by the January Install-Fest, I'll be in a good position to discuss how well it seems to work.
