Last time I installed it was on a 900mhz duron laptop, I did a stage 2
install, it ended up taking a couple days to get everything up (that is
including kde). Keep in mind that the time is really dependent upon the
speed of the machine, as you are compiling everything. If you have no
patience at all, many programs have a binary version under emerge. I
would highly suggest compiling everything as you will really notice the
speed difference. :)
