Final Slugsters BBQ Info and Requests!

There are fire grills near the shelter we have reserved at the Bacon Creek. There is no need for anyone to bring grills. The shelter we have rented is near the end of the park road and there is a large "2" on a sign nailed to the font of the shelter. There is plenty of room for parking and seven large picnic tables. You can also win something. There will be a random drawing to give away all of the remaining Linux mugs as a single set.

Can anyone bring a bag of charcoal? I will bring the starter fluid and the meat. Vegetarians, Vegans, PETA members, and other non-pork eaters are strongly encouraged to bring their own meat alternatives.

All soda and beer must be in cans or plastic bottles. Glass containers are not allowed. Other liquors are not allowed. Also, please don't drink if you are under age or offer drinks to anyone under age. The Sioux City police and park staff patrol the park and I had to sign a form stating that we would not allow that to happen. Paraphrasing, the rest of the shelter agreement states we won't get to loud or rowdy, and we agree to cleanup after ourselves, simple enough.

There is a map on the website which I updated tonight. I have added additional detail, just in case you don't know the way. If you can't find the HyVee on Gordon Drive (Highway 12) as indicated on the map, then maybe you should consider switching back to Windows or SCO.

Bacon Creek is a nice park. You are welcome to bring swimming or fishing gear for the pond and there are couple miles of paved paths for walking and bicycling. I just can't seem to envision all us CRT tanned nerds splashing around in swimming trunks. Also, all family, friends and Linux/Open Source fans are welcome.

Final note. I updated the now invalid link to Caldera Linux on our sclinux.org links page and replaced it with www.scosucks.com.

See you at the BBQ!!
