Team members are not required to be members of SCLinux.org or to have
any prior knowledge about WiFi networks.
If you do not have a team, the WAC will assign you to a team on the day
of the contest. Each team must have its
own vehicle and the entire team must travel together in that vehicle during the
duration of contest. There are no
equipment limits per vehicle, but we strongly recommend that a designated
vehicle driver focus solely on vehicle operations. Winning

necessary tools to collect wireless LAN information and will not damage any
alternative operation systems installed on your system. If

for checkout a laptop and NIC (Lucent WaveLan Silver PC24E-H) to your

the location of the LAN, the LANS SSID or Name. Team is free to create and use external antennas on their WiFi
cards (see section on Antennas below). Most
teams will want to investigate the following Linux program: http://www.kismetwireless.net Times The

the final rules and hand out Jackpot Lists.
The teams will have from 2 PM to 4 PM to collect as many wireless access
points as possible. All Teams must be
back at the Board Building before 4 PM in order to get their points tallied. Points Points
are awarded for each WiFi access point found.

these access points, your team cannot use that point. The jackpot access points will all have SSID that begin with
sclinux-. Competition points for
