I have a Zaurus SL-5500. I think it is a great PDA for linux fans. It's PIM
applications are kind of weak, but they get the job done. As far as
wireless on it, I have an ambicom CF 802.11b card, it installed and worked
within seconds. The wireless works great on it. However, I have not tried
war-driving with it. My only complaint would have to be the weak battery
life when using wireless or any other peripherals. I don't have any
concrete numbers right now, but you can probably get about 2 hours of
battery with the wireless running. You will get more if you either turn off
the light, or dim it. I would suggest getting a car adaptor for it, that
would resolve the battery problem. I do seem to get great battery life out
of it when the wireless card is not in (6+ hours) with the screen brightness
at half level.

There are a ton of great applications for the Zaurus. Having a shell with
ssh available in your pocket at all times is a great thing as well!

If you want some information on apps available you can go to
www.zauruszone.com , and there is a link to downloads there. Also , for
lively discussions about the Z you can go to www.zaurus.com/dev/board/ .

Hope this helps you out a bit!

Adam
