ALSA ( http://www.alsa-project.org/ ) is the sound system I'd recommend. Their page has a lot of good FAQs and documentation. And since they have a big Suse logo on the upper left corner of their web page I'd suspect that alsa is the preferred way to do things in Suse too. Please start there and don't hesitate to post questions or problems.

Hi folks, I am a total Linux newbie and have installed
SuSe 9 on my machine (Dual Boot with Windows 2000). I
have no sound coming from my speakers in Linux but if
I boot into Windows the sound is fine. How do I
remedy this?

Thanks

Matt
