Adam,

Ryan and I have discussed your offer.  We can prepare the materials, but we both currently have other obligations that day although our obligations may change.  We would like to get a few volunteers from the group to agree to spend a couple hours each at a booth (hint-hint any takers?).  Our thinking is we can have Linux available for demonstration and hand-out flyers to our upcoming install fest in June.  We could also put together some Knoppix CD's as handouts for people interested in a closer look at Linux.  It sounds like a great opportunity to do some Linux promotion.

All - Can anyone help out and man the booth?  If you can email the list or slug at deadpacket dot com at let us know.

Adam - Will there be Internet access at the Fest?  Is it wireless?

Adam - Have you contacting local media outlets and related businesses?  I have a contact list somewhere from our last install fest.  Also, you might want to send a notice to the OLUG group in Omaha.  If we can't get a booth manned, can drop off some flyers for our Install Fest?

Brion.

Subject: [sclug-generallist] Geekstock 2004

Hello all,

We have updated our website ( http://csci2.morningside.edu/~geekstock ) for Geekstock 2004 being held by the Morningside College student chapter of the ACM.  If any of you are available to man a booth during the event please let me know and we can add the SCLUG to our website.

Thanks,

Adam Johnson
