ok i do an #ifconfig eth0 down and check to see if the interface is down. the only thing showing is the loop back. now i leave it that way and come back some time later, like 2 hours or so? (the next day)now if i do an ifconfig and check the eth0 it back up? shouldn't it stay down untill i issue the ifconfig eth0 up?? if i check the #chkconfig --list the network service is running (of course) now is that service restrting the interface? bad eth0 i said down! eth0 get down!! don't make me come over there! _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
