Ted and I will be here no matter what, even if we do not have a subject
or presentation. If all else, we can discuss the thoughts of
organization of the group and goals.

If we do not have anything else to do, we are going to start setting up
a cluster using several Compaq servers that we have here at the SCCSD.

Subject: [sclug-generallist] Meeting July 24th?

Hey Sioux City Linux Users,

I just got back into town a couple days ago and am now getting caught
up. I haven't seen anyone post a topic for this month's meeting. If
you
have a presentation you can do this month, please post the topic on this

list before 5 PM on Friday. I think there were several ideas floating
around earlier this month. Otherwise, we are going to have to cancel
the
meeting for this month and pick it up in August. If you want to talk to

Ryan or I about a topic post a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or call
one
of us.

Ryan and I feel we need to get our band of open source and Linux
advocates
more organized and to be honest we are getting burned out. I would like
to
have nominations officers and an election. I think it would be a good
opportunity for some of you to get more involved with the group and
would
probably help the group get more organized. We should elect group
officers
every year. Needed would be a president (leader), vice president
(assists
president and is a backup president), someone to manage the website (an
information officer) and a social director (party planner). As much as
we
are all such independent soles, I believe this change would allow us to
achieve our goals more easily and quickly. We also need to sit down
again
and come up with a group mission statement, charter, and goals. Does
anyone else have any feelings on any of this?

Thanks,
Brion.
