Ryan & SCLugsters:

I talked to Kathi, an engineer at Evertek (800-242-0154 is the direct toll free). She added my IP to the filter at Evertek to allow my mail server to send email via port 25. Its nice to deal with a local company on this sort of issue. The SCLinux mail list is back online.

I had tried redirecting email earlier through Evertek's email server earlier, but many of the emails seemed to have bounced. Some of you may have missed some of the emails to this list over the last day or so. To get a copy of them use the following email address:

Thanks for the email Ryan!!

Subject: Evertek's apparently blocked SMTP outbound

Greetings,

I didn't have another decent way to mention this to anyone but it
appears as though Evertek has decided to kill off port 25 (SMTP)
outbound from their networks. I figured this out after I realized #1)
I couldn't send email from my evertek network directly outbound and
#2) I wasn't getting mail from ezmlm as I attempted to change the
email address my mailing list messages were going to by unsubscribing
and resubscribing. So, just an FYI, I'm sure you're aware.

Later,

Ryan T. Patterson
