Would someone mind telling me what a gmail invite is?  (I don't get out 
much, I guess).  I have even looked for them on the Internet, but all I 
seem able to find is people giving them away...  Do you have to be 
invited to use it, rather than just signing yourself up?  If so, what is 
the idea of that?

Anyway, from what I have read about it on google's site,  I would love 
to try it, if there are enough invites for me to get one
