This document gave me the information I needed to do what I stated below.  Unfortunately it was not as easy as the HP systems but I can live with that.

What I had to do was add the following entry to the /etc/auto.master file:

        /net    /etc/auto.net

Create the /etc/auto.net file with the following information:

        hostname         -fstype=autofs  file:/etc/auto.hostname

Where hostname is the name of the remote host.

Then Create the /etc/auto.hostname file with the share information:

        share     -bg,soft,intr           hostname:/share

Where share is the NFS share on the remote host.
