VSFTPD is the only service that I want to monitor. (trying to convince end-users to
use scp was too big of a challange for them to tackle) My end-users are configured as
virtual users and not actual accounts on the server.

I have answered part of my question though. By using tcp wrappers in the following
format I receive an email anytime a user ftp's into the server:

vsftpd : ALL : spawn /bin/echo "%h ftp access" | mail -s "tcp_wrappers on %H" [EMAIL
PROTECTED]

I can simply modify this to kick off a customer korn script.

Now to tackle the other side of this problem, disconnections. I'm still hunting for
ways to kick off yet another custom korn script when the end-user disconnects.
