Hello All,

Last Chance to get in on this great event. Last year we had over 280 people show up in the basement of the court house. This year promises to be even bigger! Please come and show your support for the Sioux City School District in my pursuit to use GIS to provide more efficient decision making. I will be working on a few projects during the day that are actually going to be used in the next week. The first is site planning for a new elementary school and the students that it would serve if built in two different locations. The second is a pin map of the students who have had more than 8 unexcused absences for the Truancy Department.

Here is some information on the event. More information, including the agenda, can be found at the following website.

The Sioux Land Users Group (SLUG) is holding the "GIS SLUG-fest 2004" GIS Day event on October 22nd at the Sioux City Convention Center! The event will be open to the public from 9am. until 4pm. SLUG-fest 2004 is going to be the best way to see what's going on with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the Tri-State region this fall.

We are offering this event free of charge to all of our guests. Our guest will be able to take up to 6 of the 12 mini-courses available, free of charge and there is no charge to attend the conference itself.  We believe this will give GIS users ample reason to come and enjoy our event. We appreciate that many are facing tighter budgets these days and realize you can’t get a better offer than FREE. GIS Industry Exhibitors will be there to show new products and services and a map gallery will display some of the most interesting work being done with GIS in the Tri-State region.

Thank you for your support and hope to see you there.
