I have another idea for the November meeting. How about in addition to Ryan's bash presentation (which is a good one) we do something on printing. Specifically, I would like have a hands-on lab where we setup up some inkjet and/or laser printers with CUPS and then use SAMBA to make the printer accessible for network printing by M$ and Linux machines. We could do this as a lab project.
We would need 2 or 3 printers and some Linux boxes to connect them too with network interfaces and different distributions on them (would like to see Red Hat, Mandrake and Fedora). A printer with a built in network interface would also be cool. I have a HP540 inkjet that I want to bring and I would be happy to organize and come of with some educational material.
