Can you explain what you mean by "recognised"? Where are you using it?
If you want it to be part of the build, include it in <modules /> in maven-scm-providers/pom.xml.
If you are talking about having it available at runtime - it will depend on what application you are using it with. It just needs to be in the correct classloader, and components.xml in the provider needs to have been set up properly (similarly to the other providers).
