Meeting follow-up:
Following is the information I mentioned in the meeting today. This is
high-level information I communicated earlier this week about this work.
- opensolaris.org Website
- New Authentication application
- Required to move the ON gate outside the SWAN
- Work in progress
- Anticipate completion August/September 2008
- SCM console application rewrite
- Required to move the ON gate outside the SWAN
- Work will be done in phases
- Anticipate work starting July 2008
- Anticipate completion September 2008
- Open Development Infrastructure
- All work will proceed in a step-wise fashion to show visible
progress and allow forward movement without all pieces in place.
- ON migration to Mercurial and outside SWAN
- Jun 2008: ON developer tools integrated
- Jul 2008: ON gatekeeper tools integrated
- Aug 2008: ON gate transitions to Mercurial inside SWAN
- TBD: ON gate moves outside SWAN: Goal is by October 2008,
hopefully earlier.
- OpenRTI tool
- Work has been done to enable the tool to work outside the SWAN.
- Need to connect it to defect.opensolaris.org and the new
website authenthication application: TBD
- Anticipate testing this Summer and availability in the Fall
- defect tracking
- TBD until there is an owner and resources assigned to figuring
out the whole problem
- In the meantime, I assume we will use defect.opensolaris.org
in tandem with Bugster. Note that this also needs a plan that
can be explained to engineering teams. I assume I own this plan
insofar as it's part of explaining the move to open development.
- Owning/driving more than that is TBD.
