I'm just trying to answer the "why" question that meem originally asked, not suggesting that anyone _ought_ to do this or that there aren't other ways to do it that might be better. In any event, it seems to me that having a hook (perhaps as part of Cadmium) that checks for multiple heads in the parent and denies a pull if they're present would solve meem's original problem.
