I don't think that's *expected behaviour* certainly.  I have a bunch of 
my own mailman lists, and it's always tracked the two separately.  i.e.:

1) Being a subscriber means you get to post AND you get copies of all 
email sent to the list
2) Being on the accept_these_nonmembers list means you just get to post

Being on #2 has no bearing on the subscription logic.  And from what 
I've seen, mailman has never assumed it should.

So I think you just hit a weird bug and somehow got stuck in limbo- not 
sure how, and not sure it's worth figuring it out to be honest. :-P
