I agree, getting it to work with 3.0rc1 would probably be sufficient for 3.0. Implementing this requires modifying src/lib/product/Daemon/Bugzilla.pm.in to conditionally behave differently for version 3.0 and continue working like it used to for older versions. You'll probably need to include (e.g. "use Bugzilla::Bug;") the appropriate libraries where they are needed. You would need to essentially port the integration_* functions in Bugzilla.pm.in.
