in section 8.2.3, and in all other places that show how to install a perl
module, it writes:
                     Installation in Windows systems:

C:\> ppm
PPM - Programmer's Package Manager version 3.1.
Copyright (c) 2001 ActiveState Corp. All Rights Reserved.
ActiveState is a devision of Sophos.

Entering interactive shell. Using Term::ReadLine::Stub as readline library.

Type 'help' to get started.
ppm> install XML-Simple
this is not correct. on win32, entering "ppm" in the command
line will open the new GUI module manager. on win64, this will produce an error
message, that perl 64 bit edition doesn't have a GUI yet.
the correct way to do this is to write
>ppm install XML-Simple
even
>ppm install xml-simple
will work, both on 32bit and 64 bit.
