Hi David, I think it would be appropriate to store it in a contrib area within the Scmbug repository, yes. We should be integrating such or other solutions to a given issue to the mainline release. But in cases were that hasn't happened I feel storing such scripts is the least we can do. It will probably help from a motivation standpoint to develop something permanent. Send it over.
