I meant the url http://log4perl.sourceforge.net/ppm/ for adding as a
repository under Perl 5.8, like recommended in the FAQ. While trying
to add the url as a repository the package manager prints some
messages about HTTP code 500, something not found, he is redirected to
somewhere and so on. Opening the url with the browser or package.xml
at the end, like needed for a repository I think, says the same.

I could swear I did try that, too, but just to be sure I did a
ppm install "http://log4perl.sourceforge.net/ppm/Log-Log4perl.ppd";
after reading your answer and that worked properly. At least the
installation of the module doesn't give any error, Couldn't test with
SCMBug because I had some problems getting it working yesterday and
need to stay with the old version for now.

May I provide my experience in a new thread? At least one error was
new, I think.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,

Thorsten Schöning
