"Permission denied" probably doesn't come from failure to set execute bits; TryRun just uses TryLink, so if the linker succeeds the executable bit should be set (by the linker). If the linker fails, I've seen cases where it produces an output file but doesn't set the execute bit because of (e.g.) missing symbols. That might be it. -- Gary
