        The biggest danger is that someone will alter a file in their build 
tree, which also alters the file in your scons_cache, but does not alter the 
MD5 hash by which the file is found in the cache.  I.e., cache corruption.

        This is especially pernicious if you hard-link files from your cache 
into your build output tree and use them to, say, build an RPM, which will 
strip them without asking you first.
