I think what you say is correct, but I have had a number of people
comment to me that SCons is the only reason they have Python 2 loaded,
and that it is irritating them. I just haven't managed to get them to
say this on these email lists.

I think though the time is right to have a codebase that runs under
Python 3 as well as Python 2. There is now significant evidence that it
is possible to do this. Thus it is not a Python 2 OR Python 3 issue but
a Python 2 AND Python 3 one.
