I am working on doing some experiments using scons as the setup.py implementation. I want to be able to package wheel files more flexibly than setuptools would allow, and it's nice to have a good, easier to use build system. A new pip feature will allow dependencies before setup.py is called.
Had to find/replace __slots__ to __slats__ to get it to run in pypy. How badly do you need slots? Daniel Holth
